Building on the success of the GSA Summer Schools, which have been successfully running for over 20 years, the Easter Schools draw on the expertise and knowledge of GSA and our international reputation for delivering high-quality training.
GSA’s Easter schools take place at our purpose built facilities which are located on the Stag Hill Campus at the University of Surrey in Guildford. The courses available provide a stimulating refresher, booster or an introduction to basic theatre training for people of all ages with a wide range of theatre interests and backgrounds.
Tutors come from all areas of the industry and students have the opportunity to work closely with GSA staff. Everyone who joins a GSA Easter school will be encouraged to work hard in order to gain the full experience of rehearsing and performing and all students will receive a certificate of achievement from GSA on completion of the course.
There are no entry auditions for the GSA Easter schools but places are limited so early application is advised. Age requirements apply for each programme and there is no upper age limit on our 17+ programmes.

The Musical Theatre Easter school is designed for people who enjoy performing. The course introduces you to various disciplines of theatre: acting, singing and movement. Everyone is able to develop at their own pace, no-one is forces to performance and there are opportunities for you to explore performance techniques. Students will develop key skills in teamwork, communication and confidence whilst building friendships and having fun!
The school concludes with a showing, to friends and family, of the skills and musical numbers achieved during the course.

We take the art of training for musical theatre very seriously and although these five days are fun, it is also hard work. You will learn and understand the commitment and focus that is required to access professional training and what is expected of you in the industry.
Each day you will have a school on a West end show and learn the original score and some of the original choreography. The school concluded with a showing to family and friends, of the show numbers they have achieved.
Students aged 17 years and above will have the opportunity to see a show in either London’s West End or at a local theatre. Tickets can be purchased when booking the course. Please note, tickets may be limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis and students will be responsible for travel costs by train or coach as appropriate. Members of the faculty accompany all Easter School off-site theatre visits to ensure student safety.
Please note accommodation on campus is not available for Easter School participants.
Information on local bed and breakfast accommodation can be supplied on request.
