The Centre of Performance Philosophy present an all-day Symposium exploring and interrogating a diverse range of dance practices and other modes of embodied resilience in response to Western modernity and globalisation. Key themes that will be discussed address the following topics:

  • What is the potential of performance to build sustainable futures?
  • Can we extend models from somatic movement into a global politics of resilience?
  • What are the moral and ethical practices underpinning sustainability in the context of community work, arts therapy and well-being?

Speakers include: Prof Christopher Balme (LMU Munich), Debbie Fionn Barr, Luciana Da Costa Dias and Adriana Pegorer.
