Audition Fees

Applicants for all performance courses must pay a non-refundable audition fee.

Audition fees for Foundation Acting, Foundation Musical Theatre, BA (Hons) Acting, BA (Hons) Actor-Musician and BA (Hons) Musical Theatre are:

  • For a First Round audition the fee is £15
  • If an applicant is successful and invited to a second round Audition Workshop, there is an additional fee of £30

Audition fees for MA Acting and MA Musical Theatre are:

  • Single Round Audition fee £45

There are no audition or interview fees for BA (Hons) Applied and Contemporary Theatre, BA (Hons) Theatre Production, MA Stage and Production Management, BA (Hons) Theatre (online learning) or MA Theatre (online learning).

Fee Waiver

The University of Surrey is able to support students attending an audition, open day, or campus tour with a travel bursary of £40. The bursary will be paid to your bank account after you have attended the event. If you require immediate support with the costs of travel, please contact the Widening Participation and Outreach Team at wp@surrey.ac.uk. See below for eligibility criteria.

Essential Criteria: You must meet all of the following criteria.

  • Home students (currently residing in the UK)
  • Studying at a state-funded school or college
  • Booked onto an audition/offer holder event/interview/open day/campus tour.

 

WP&O Criteria: You must meet one of the following criteria.

  • Care-experienced students including:
    • With foster carers under local authority care
    • In a residential children’s home
    • Being looked after at home under a supervision order
    • Living with friends or relatives in kinship care
  • Estranged students
  • Young carers
  • Forced migrants (Refugees or Asylum Seekers, including those awarded Humanitarian protection, Limited Leave to Remain or Discretionary Leave to Remain in UK)
  • Adult learners (students starting their first degree over the age of 21)
  • Gypsy, Roma, Irish Traveller, Showperson or Boater students
  • Students in receipt of free school meals (within the last 6 years)
  • Students in receipt of a 16-19 bursary
  • Students from areas of multiple deprivation (*see IMD look up tool below)
  • Students from low participation neighbourhoods (**see POLAR4 look up tools below)
  • Disabled students.
