Subject Overview

GSA offer creative and critical-thinking programmes in drama, theatre and performance and direction. Our unique Creative Practices and Direction MA programme will develop your creative-practice and leadership skills through engagement with practice-oriented theory and collaborations. The BA Theatre and Performance programme will provide you with extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of a wide range of practices, with a special emphasis on experimentation.

BA Theatre is a unique conversion programme, delivered via online learning, that provides experienced professionals and/or graduates from Federation of Drama Schools, CDET, Conservatoires UK and Trinity College London validated courses the opportunity to gain a degree from a leading conservatoire within a top University. Students will engage with critical concepts and explore the rich heritage of theatre and performance from an experiential and practical perspective.

The PhD in Theatre at Surrey provides postgraduate researchers with a supportive and collegiate research experience within our conservatoire, the Guildford School of Acting (GSA).
