1. A Taste of GSA Workshop

Designed as a taste of the training offered at the Guildford School of Acting (GSA), this combined workshop is ideal for those considering our MA and MFA programmes in Acting, and Musical Theatre.
The session will begin with a vocal warm-up with Kevin Michael Cripps (Head of Singing).
This will be followed by a practical session with Grainne Byrne (Programme Leader for MA and MFA Acting) which will explore Shakespeare text emphasising psychophysical approaches, with a particular focus on the Michael Chekhov Technique.
The final session will focus on the integration of character through movement and sung text. This session will start with a physical warm-up in a contemporary jazz style with Phyllida Crowley-Smith (Head of Dance), and focus on posture and connection through the body. Participants will then learn the vocals and choreography of a short segment of current British musical theatre repertoire.

2. In-person auditions:
Date: Monday 13 January 2025
In-person auditions will be held in Philadelphia this year, open to all GSA applicants for all programmes, including all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
If you are applying for BA (Hons) Acting or BA (Hons) Musical Theatre and would like to audition in Philadelphia, we MUST receive your UCAS application by Friday 22 November 2024. Also, you must have completed the first-round video audition stage, and have been invited to a recall audition. The deadline to submit first-round videos is Friday 6 December 2024.
For applicants to our other programmes, to be invited to this audition, we must receive your application no later than Thursday 2 January 2025.
Auditions will take place on Monday 13 January 2025 in Philadelphia. Venue TBC.

3. URTA In-person auditions and interviews:
We will also be taking part in the URTA in-person auditions and interviews, January 10 – 12, 2025, at Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square. This is mostly for MFA Acting applicants.
