Students on both BA Theatre Production and MA Stage and Production Management courses have been successful recently in gaining excellent placements.
During the Autumn lighting student Oli Hancock (BA) had the amazing opportunity to tour Australia as Production Video Engineer with a new production of North by Northwest, having previously worked on the show in Bath and Toronto. Keira Dulake (BA) worked at the Unicorn Theatre in the stage management department and Ellie Brereton (BA) assisted GSA alumnus, designer PJ McEvoy, on a new musical Fanatical at the Playground Theatre.
Currently the first cohort of our new MA are out on their first placements. Gemma Brock and Emily Spiers (MA) are stage management interns on the London transfer of Waitress from Broadway into the Adelphi Theatre, along with BA student Adam Hooper. Owen Collick (MA) joins the stage management team of Club Tropicana opening at the Churchill Theatre Bromley, whilst Leea Smith (BA) joins the SM team of the new UK tour of Avenue Q, opening at the Kings Theatre Portsmouth. Closer to home MA students Ciara Roddy and Jess Dudley are working with Guildford Shakespeare Company on their forthcoming production of Measure for Measure. From the sound pathway, Hayley Groves (BA) joins the UK tour of Jersey Boys.
Finally we are particularly proud of Jon Harwood (BA) who after a competitive selection process is the first ever stage management placement student at the National Theatre, working on the forthcoming production of Tartuffe in the Lyttelton Theatre.
