Today, The Voice team is led by Chris Palmer. Chris Palmer: Chris trained at Rose Bruford and Central School of Speech and Drama. As well as teaching voice here at GSA on the taught degrees, she has coached in Norway and Geneva for the World Economic Forum and Global Fellowship, and was Communications Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. She has worked as a vocal coach on numerous shows including the West End production of Mama Mia!, and has taught at many leading drama schools. Chris has published articles for the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. Her book Voice and Speech for Musical Theatre (2019) is published by Methuen Drama. Adam Wallis: Adam Walls is a Senior Lecturer in Voice at GSA. Adam is a performer, practitioner and educator of voice and voice studies across academic and professional industries. Adam’s teaching and performance credits include The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Arts Ed, Rose Bruford, The BRIT School, Spotlight, BBC, ITV, Sky One, Abbey Road Studios, Radio1 Live Lounge and has supported numerous high-profile artists. Adam is a graduate of The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (MFA Voice Studies), The Academy of Contemporary Music (BA Hons Contemporary Popular Music: Singing) and a certified practitioner of Fitzmaurice Voicework. Jenny Tullett: Jenny Tullett is a Lecturer in Voice (part-time) and teaches across many programmes including Acting, Musical Theatre, Actor Musicianship and Applied and Contemporary Theatre at Foundation, BA, and MA/MFA Level. Current subjects taught include Speech Skills (Practical Voice), Voice and Text (Applied Voice), Voice and Accent Coaching on Productions/Projects and Voice Maintenance. Jenny is a keen researcher and continues to explore new ideas in voice, singing, vocal anatomy, voice pedagogy, accents, dialects and teaching in industry. Her current interests lie in The Carer's Voice and 'making invisible voices, visible' by creating spaces for those voices to be heard. Her work as a Voice and Accent Coach on shows alongside Directors and MDs has also taken her to work on community and professional projects both nationally and internationally. The current production Jenny is supporting will be performing at the famous Minack Theatre, Cornwall. Barbara Ward: Barbara is a Lecturer in Voice and has worked extensively in theatre, television, corporate videos and voiceovers. Barbara has worked at several drama schools as both a practical voice, dialect and text teacher and continues to work across both MA and BA courses striving to improve and enhance vocal practices and enabling the understanding of how to tackle text. Barbara has also worked with individuals wanting to improve their vocal delivery at work or for social situations. We employ a range of highly experienced Voice coaches and practitioners to support our work here at GSA, whether that is to coach one-to-one, lead a group Voice workshop or teach GSA students on their BA, MA, MFA or Foundation programmes.
