CD release rare 1950 British Musicals with Stewart Nicholls
Congratulations to Stewart Nicholls, Director, Theatre Historian & GSA MA/MFA Musical Theatre Programme Leader, on the imminent CD release of scores of two rare British Musicals of the 1950s. Archivist of the composer, Stewart has also written the detailed liner notes.
This collection compiles all the Original London Cast recordings from both 'Zip Goes A Million' and 'Happy Holiday' along with a number of pop covers and instrumentals from each score performed by such artists as Pearl Carr, Petula Clark, Ronnie Harris, Hutch and the Frank Barber Orchestra. Many of the tracks featured are previously unreleased on CD. As a special bonus, the disc includes selections from a live radio broadcast of'Zip Goes A Million' as featured on the long running BBC radio programme 'Henry Hall's Guest Night'.
