Theatres named after Beatrice "Bice" Bellairs and Rex Doyle

Theatres named after Beatrice "Bice" Bellairs and Rex Doyle. Official Naming Ceremonies took place at the Guildford School of Acting on the 27th February 2020 for the Bellairs Theatre and Rex Doyle Studio Theatre. Both the families attended the ceremony and unveiled the new plaques. Ian Ricketts who personally knew both Bice Bellairs 1910-1991 (co-founder of GSA) and Rex Doyle 1935-2015 (actor/writer/director/teacher) gave a fitting and moving tribute to their inspiring characters, their spirit and warm hospitality, and contribution to the development of the world renown reputation gained since GSA began 85 years ago. Rex Doyle was born in 1935, the same year as GSA was founded. Head of GSA Professor Sean McNamara also gave a wonderful speech of GSA's gratitude of the legacy left by these incredible people and how they shaped what GSA has become today.
